The Centre for Business in Society (CBiS) a research centre within the Faculty of Business and Law. Through understanding the impact of organisations’ activities, behaviours and policies, CBiS seeks to promote responsibility and to change behaviours so as to achieve better outcomes for economies and societies. As part of CBiS, the Sustainable Production and Consumption research team focuses on the ultimate goals of living within environmental limits and the attainment of social justice, through the delivery of responsible business and ethical consumption practices.
Our research takes a ‘whole supply chain’ approach, examining activities, attitudes and behaviours at different points in the lifecycle of products. This stretches across from technical development and supply through to consumption and post-consumption.
CBiS is a multidisciplinary research centre within Coventry Business School. Many of our researchers hold an engineering/technical background whilst operating in a business/commercial environment. CBiS’s wealth of network of regional and national stakeholders including companies makes it ideal for dissemination of the outcome of the project.
